Edit 2/9/2012 – It figures. It just figures that they would change the Valentines 2012 event so significantly since I wrote my rant, that a lot of what I said is not true anymore. The 4x stove is NOW an Ultra (50%) stove, but as you can see from my screenshot, it wasn’t when they first released it. Maybe my rant got to them? I wish. 
Anyway, the link to Heart Boxes was added. It’s the same as what they used in the Gift Wrapper Goals. ~The FG
Wait. Didn’t they JUST release some goals this week? <rolls eyes> Well, whatever. This Valentine’s Day set is sure to shock and amaze you…
There’s many parts to the event itself, the the only help that I can provide is for the set of 5 goals. The Red and Gold hearts are “RSVP” type items. you know, the ones you can only ask for every so often? Used to be every 28 hours but these seem to be ever 4. Wierd. If I were you, I’d take advantage of that and send them every 4 hours. That is, if you’re interested in the crummy rewards the red hearts give you.
Some things you need to know:
- The 5th goal’s reward is 5 gold hearts.
- You can redo the 5-set of goals over and over, but amounts of items and dishes to serve increases during each pass. You get 5 more gold hearts at the end of each set.
- When you spend hearts on a decoration, it’s “unlocks” that item so you can purchase it unlimited times in the normal game store.
- You can only buy each stove once.
- You might get a 50% lovely stove in the box of chocolates. Try every 12 hours.

And now, my rantings.
There are various things you can buy with red hearts. If you’re into decorations, then this will be good for you. There’s things like stoves in there too. Even a 10% lightning stove that is guaranteed to clash with all your other stoves. As an aside, you can still build unlimited amounts of 10% stoves.. so unless you just like the look, I wouldn’t bother buying it with precious hearts.
It’s the gold hearts that buy the really good stuff. But without knowing how to get one, I can’t say whether they’re worth bothering with. I can tell you gold hearts are PRICEY, if you choose to buy them with Cafe Cash. One heart costs 100 Cafe Cash (which is roughly $15, depending on the package you’re able to buy).
To put this in perspective, let us look at probably the only 2 decent items in the whole Valentines “Store”: The Lovely 4x Lightning Stove (10%) and the Lovely 50% Lightning (Which should be called “Ultra”). There’s no indication that the 4x stove is a 50% stove, so I can only assume it’s 10% because of its “Lightning” name.
It’s likely that you’ll be able to naturally get 2 hearts to buy a Lovely 50% over the course of the event, but if you just HAD to have it, you’re looking at paying 200 CC for that sucker. If you buy the $50 package (350 CC), that’ll make this thing worth about $28. You can buy a normal 50% stove for as low as 120 CC, or ~ $17. Is a pink stove worth $11 more?
Now, the 4x stove.. oh Zynga, what have you done? Let’s say you have 1 gold heart from playing but you want to buy the other 15? You can use the package deal to only pay 1350 CC (450 x 3). The largest CC package is for 1250 CC, and it’s $150. Did I mention that the stove isn’t even a 50% stove? From every indication, it’s a simple 4x 10%. (Disclaimer: That’s true as of this writing. They might change it if people give them enough negative feedback.) I can’t… I can’t even finish the calculations.
All that just to say that it’s probably a better idea to repeat the sets of goals as many times as you can, because buying the stoves is a ridiculous idea.

I repeated the goal for the second time but the reward for the last part is 5 red hearts not gold
…same here-5 red hearts the second time round…zynga is not in a generous valentines mode are they….hmmmmmm!!
incidently-I am at level 176, can anyone tell me when I get my next Stove Slot? it has been AGES since the last allocation…..
hmm… 2nd time I finished it I got another 5 gold hearts :/ 3rd times it says I’m getting another 5…I can’t be the only one though o.O
I know I’m a bit late telling you this, but even though it says the reward is 5 red hearts, you actually get 5 gold hearts. Mine said 5 red hearts, so I put off completing the challenge to start on the new catering order, and now I’m kicking myself a little because once I finally finished the goal, I got 5 gold hearts. But I am happy to learn that you can only complete the goals 5 times. I’m on my fifth round now and it’s good to know that I won’t have to feel like I didn’t complete the little series.
That is OK but they are sold out the 50% lighting stove. I was lucky to get 2 but when I went to get the third, it said it was sold out!!!????

Question: Is it really worth buying stoves or Cafe Cash, (especially at their prices), since I could buy a game that is a lot more fun, less glitches and only pay $15/mo to play online with tons of people? Sure, they give free cash for doing stuff, but I usually end up accidentally using it, and then never have enough to buy the good stuff when it comes along “for a limited time”. CW is fun, but not that fun – it’s more frustrating, especially when things spoil because I’m not going to spend $300 on a no-spoil genie you have to maintain with friends that don’t play…
This site rocks. I wouldn’t still be playing CW if I had the money to play my other game, but I sure wouldn’t be playing it without this site.

FYI Dale, the No-Spoil Genie is unlimited — you don’t have to re-hire a crew like with Serving Susie, the Sous Chef, the Hostess, and too many other items! I didn’t buy it the first time it was offered, was almost ready to buy it the 2nd time, missed it the 3rd time, and just happened to have enuff the 4th time. (Or was that the 3rd time?) Anyway, I feel ya on the accidental usage of CC; I’ve done that a few times and it was SO frustrating (especially if it was something I wouldn’t have wanted for free!). Have you tried sending up a flare to support? Sometimes you get a good support person, and they just might refund your CC if you ask (or give you a bunch of spices, which is pretty cool, too). Just sayin’, it can’t hurt to ask. Can be frustrating, but can’t hurt.

I see everyone talking about the heart shaped boxes, but i don’t see that goal anywhere on the valentines stuff for me. I have checked all my goals. Can you tell me where that is, i would appreciate it.
same here. i am on my third round of the 5 goals and have not needed these yet. strange.
I got 3 Quest Buster spices from the first chocolate, and 10 red hearts from the second chocolate I clicked on. If the 4X stove is just a 10% lightning stove, it wouldn’t be worth it to me because almost all my stoves are 50% stoves. Now if it ends up being a 50% ultra stove, then that would be worth it. I do like getting new recipes, though.
BTW-I think that they are calling the lovely 50% stove ‘lightning’ instead of ‘ultra’ because it only has one burner.

How many times do we have to do the goals, it is a timed event so can only be so many lots of 5?

So that 4x stove for 16 gold hearts must be a 50% ultra!

I guess they realized there wasn’t enough clarity to entice the money out of the wallets of the peeps who can afford to spend real dough.

I just wanted to add my Thanks to the growing list of people who greatly appreciate you and what you do! If it wasn’t for facegamer I would have quit a long long time ago… especially now that asking people for things has become impossible with Zynga not fixing something basic like that. So thank you, thank you, thank you for all you do!!
Don’t get too frustrated. Your effort is greatly appreciated and Zynga should pay you for keeping people around. If I did not have the ability to gift myself using your links, I would have given up loooong ago. Being able to focus only on cooking makes things so much better.b
In my cookbook it shows 9 recipes for the Valentine Day Goals but there are only 6 for purchase in their store thing. Anyone have any ideas? The missing recipes are strawberries in cream, roast quail balsamic, and heart tart.
These recipes are given by the chocolate box. The one on the center of the box is a recipe.
I got the heart tart from the chocolate box (the one that says pick one each day, but you can pick one every 12 hours).
for those asking for the heart shaped box use the old GID from the gift wrapper goals ~ 5195

Today I bought the Valentine wall panels and one of the floor patterns with my red hearts. I was able to purchase an ‘unlimited amount’ for around 2 coins each when I first bought them w/ my hearts. I could only do so much decorating before I had to leave this morning. [I actually have a life outside of CW contrary to the beliefs of the people at Zynga.] ;P
Anyway, when I returned this evening and tried to finish decorating, they were faded out and I could no longer purchase more w/ coins to finish decorating. I re-purchased the floor pattern again w/ another red heart and I received one floor tile, but then it faded out again and won’t allow me to purchase more w/ coins. I guess we don’t get an unlimited amount for an unlimited time period, just when you first purchase an item. Has this happened to anyone else??

@ Chantelle: I received the Heart Tart as a prize in the chocolate box so perhaps that is how we receive these other three recipes.
@ Patricia: Tonight I purchased the red wallpaper. I received 1 panel. When I use that 1 panel, there is no option to buy more for coins (it is all shaded out). I think sometime through the day, Zynga changed this (perhaps meaning to only change it for the stove). Hopefully they change it back so you can unlock the item (unlimited use) again. It’s stupid to have to spend 60 red hearts just to get enough panels to wallpaper your cafe.

I noticed this too. Was just thinking ‘Oh, that makes so much more sense than spending all my hearts on wall paper’.. only now … anyway, once I got the recipe, the most useful thing would probably be the spices I think.
Yes it happened to me. I just purchased the pink heart floor tile for 1 heart, then went to my in game store to see if it was unlimited. Once I placed the 1 tile in my cafe, it was grayed out and wasn’t accessible. I doubt I will bother purchasing anymore.
The last time we were given “recipes” w/the holiday gifts to open, I found out they weren’t actual recipes but rather servings as they appeared in my gift box but not my cookbook. I’m weary now of using my hearts to purchase the recipes in the gift store. Does anyone know for sure if we get them as recipes in our cookbook or just servings in our gift box?

I was just wondering if anyone know how many sets of the these valentine goals do we have to do..I did the fist set of 5 now im working on the second set.. when will it end..lol
Thinking on the Ultra Stove (16), 5 Recipes x1 (5) and 50% Lighting Stove (2), you need 5 rounds of 5
It’s ‘repeatable’, meaning it will keep repeating until the timer runs out. I’m going to try to do it as many times as I can as I would like to get the good stoves and I like new recipes.

Hello all! I have found that once you get the page open that says ‘sorry all prizes claimed’, at that point you can hit the F5 key as many times as you need parts (after pasting your friends no. after the 0). This way you don’t have to go back and keep hitting the picture to open a new page. F5 will do the trick!
I have been using that refresh trick ever since I saw someone’s suggestion about it a few months ago. It helps cut down on the going back and forth a lot! Though I do refresh a few times more than the items I need just in case some of them don’t take. XP

What exactly are the Heart Shaped and Star boxes used for? I’m not seeing them in any of my goals …
What do the letters GID mean? I’ve seen this a lot.
Gift ID. It tells the computer what gift it is.

You have to buy it in the Valentines Goal, Click on the heart on the right side of the screen then click on the (Visit the Gift Shop) it’s on the 2nd page on my site, it will cost you 50 Red Hearts.
ANY ONE HAS ANY IDEA FOR THE GOAL 5 IN LEVEL 4 (MEANS 4TH TIME REPLAYING) IT GIVES ONLY 5 RED HEARTS INSTEAD OF 5 GOLD HEARTS AS IN PREVIOUS 3 LEVELS AFTER PLAYING THE 5 GOALS U GET 5 GOLD HEARTS BUT NOW WHEN I AM PLAYING LEVEL 4 GOAL 5 IT SHOWS 5 HEARTS I WILL GET…..PLS SOMEBODY COMMENT ABOUT IT…..
@anji I noticed that too…I’m on the 2nd set of the 5 parts and my 5th part shows 5 red hearts as the prize not gold.
I’m on the 3rd of the 5 parts and my 5th part shows red hearts and not gold too :\
When I got to the 5th goal the 2nd time, the picture showed the red hearts. But when I finished it, in the box showing what the rewards I got had a red sentence below the pictures for coins, XP, and red hearts saying that I also got 5 gold hearts.

I would send a support ticket if you are not getting the 5 gold hearts when you finish goal#5. I have completed the sets 3 times and have 15 gold hearts so far. I sure hope it doesn’t mess up on the 4th round. I only need 1 more gold heart to get the 4x Ultra stove. I sure don’t want to pay 100cc for 1 gold heart.
FYI you don’t get 5 gold hearts after each set only the first so far i am on the second set 5th goal and the rewards is only 200 cafe point, 2000 cafe coins and 5 red hearts when you finish 5 of 5 the second time “Romance Returned!”
Dennis, it says red hearts but you’ll receive gold ones! At least that’s what happened to me!

The recipes are in the gift box which I got right away. I’m on my 6th set with 4 hours left. -.- unending.
i have completed the valentines goal 3 times now…. working on the last goal on the 4th pass should be getting 5 gold hearts for this but says reward is 5 red hearts. Hope this doesn’t mean i have to complete another set of goals. i have emailed Zynga to complain like i seam to do once a week anyways, don’t know if that will help or not will have to wait and see…..i am really getting frustrated with zynga…..

i just love it that i made two rounds of the 5 goals so i would have 10 gold hearts to buy 5 50% lovely stoves for 2 hearts each and when i bought my first stove, it now says sold out! grrrrreat job zynga. i love you SO much more now. Face Gamer has kept me alive in this game! i wouldnt b able to do it without you! thanks so much!

you get it from the valentines gift shop. Click on the heart on the right side of the game window, when the valentines day to do list opens on the bottom left is a visit the gift shop square. Click on that and navigate through the shop till you see it. It costs red hearts I believe but I can’t remember. Hope this helps.
the cookbook says you get it after completing v day goals but i haven’t seen it yet!
Can anyone tell me what dishes need I need to cook for step 4 – round 2. I’m cooked my heart tarts for now for step 3 and would like to get a head start. Thanks

I would have had the 16 gold hearts needed to get the 4x stove, but I was 1 short right before they extended it. Before I left for work (6 hours before the original deadline), I went ahead and used all my gold hearts on the dishes and stove. I was furious when I found out they extended it. Looks like I will be 2 short this time around, so I may use them on the instant spices. On top of that, I never picked the stove in the chocolates.
Engagement chicken is in the Valentine store
To test the unlock this item in the giftbox store, I purchased one of the V-Day tiles. Checked the in game store and it is NOT unlimited to buy from there. Once you place it into the cafe, it’s grayed out and not accessible again. I would imagine then, you would have to spend the remaining of your hearts in order to buy more to have more. So sad =(
